I (Audrey) started working at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Waikiki as a server in 2015. Matthew already worked there, as a busser. He was my first trainer, and my first impression was that he was quiet, shy, and very smart. As the years went by, he and I formed a deep bond over shared interests, mutual irritations, and a love of all things nerdy. During the pandemic, as the world isolated, he and I grew closer. When my mother had an unexpected and near-fatal stroke, I had to go home to Ohio for several months. The time apart made us aware that we never wanted to be away from each other again, in any capacity. We fell in love over many years of friendship, and it will not be cliche when we say we are "marrying our best friend".

Our favorite things include gaming, reading (often he is gaming while I am reading, or we do both together!), listening to calm music, traveling, anything even remotely related to Japan, fantasy and sci-fi movies, golfing, sending Instagram reels to each other, working out, spending time with our families, and laughing as often as possible.
